i have to admit i am not the type of person that reads before bed. i often find my mind wonders and i never understand or comprehend the text at all. however.. tonight was a little different... i happen to re-read the chapter on psychoanalysis from Klages and now sit here somewhat agitated... i shake my head at the several "hits"towards females that both Freud and Lacan support..
for example: "For Freud, the weakness of the female superego and unconsciousness explain why women are not suitable to be the rulers and shapers of civilization"...
although i have previously been introduced and aware of their remarks (thanks to taking a women's studies course) i found some things mentioned within this chapter to be surprising...
i have a lot to say on the subject and look forward to the next chapter on feminism!
